As you have likely heard by now, the highly-anticipated launch of the redesigned Grove Music Online is quickly approaching.
As a current subscriber, you will soon be able to access your subscription to Grove Music Online through Oxford Music Online (www.oxfordmusiconline.com), the new home for Grove and Oxford music reference content. You will automatically have access to the redesigned site the last week in March, 2008. In addition to new partnerships that enable direct linking from Grove articles to RILM, DRAM and Classical Music Library sites, updated content, and a number of other new features, your subscription will now also include access to The Oxford Dictionary of Music, Second Edition and The Oxford Companion to Music. Please note that there is no additional charge for this new content.
In order to give our subscribers and users ample time to adjust to the new site, the current version of Grove Music Online will remain available at http://www.grovemusic.com through June 30th. You are welcome to switch over to the new site at any time before this date. Starting July 1st, all visitors to the current site will automatically be redirected to www.oxfordmusiconline.com. This redirection will happen in perpetuity.
When the new site is live and your account is activated, you will receive an email containing important information about updating your account preferences to take advantage of the new functionality (OpenURL, library branding, linking partnerships, and more) available through Oxford Music Online. We will also be providing you with links to materials that have been developed to help you and your users learn how to use the new site.
We are striving to ensure that this transition as smooth as possible for all of our subscribers, and hope that you will contact us should you have any questions about the relaunch or your subscription.
