EZProxying in ClassGuides

To proxy a link in libguides, check the "Add proxy URL to the front of this link" box that appears when you create a new link.

However, if you are pointing to a link in a system that that is already proxied, like the RDL, Homer, Serials Solutions, SFX, you don’t need to proxy the link. You only need to proxy libguides pages to direct links to stuff we pay for. For example:

No proxying needed in classguides (proxied in the RDL)
http://rdl.lib.uconn.edu/byTitle.php?search=mla&mode=contains

Proxying needed in classguides:

http://search.ebscohost.com/login.aspx?authtype=ip,uid&profile=ehost&defaultdb=mzh

Always test your links!
